Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits within the Corporate and Commercial Banking segment, where you will own the commercial execution of sales plans that align with the wider business strategy. On a day-to-day basis, you will manage a portfolio of corporate clients, sell cash management and related banking products, and work to consistently exceed revenue and profitability targets. Your work matters because it directly contributes to the bank’s growth and competitive positioning within the corporate market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a disciplined, product-oriented sales plan for the corporate and commercial segment, proactively tracking performance against targets and adjusting tactics where needed to ensure goals are met or beaten.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each customer’s business model, industry pressures, and future needs in order to anticipate requirements and move opportunities forward through consultative selling.
  • Match client needs with product capabilities by preparing tailored product demonstrations, proposals, and presentations that clearly articulate value and drive conversions.
  • Lead negotiations on terms and conditions with clients, striking the right balance between customer satisfaction and the bank’s revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Identify and act on cross-selling and referral opportunities across other banking lines by maintaining a current and accurate view of each client’s changing operational and financial requirements.
  • Design structured cash management solutions that address the specific liquidity, payment, and collection challenges of corporate clients and prospects.
  • Maintain up-to-date sales activity records and produce periodic reports for management, ensuring consistent follow-through on leads, renewals, and pipeline items.
  • Work closely with product management and development teams on strategic rollouts, sharing customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to support new or improved product offerings.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for service issues during and after implementation, ensuring a consistently high standard of post-sales support and relationship care.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • At least five years of experience in the banking sector, with a minimum of three years dedicated to business development within the corporate or commercial segment.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyse client financial data, identify underlying business drivers, and translate insights into persuasive sales strategies.
  • Proven sales and marketing capability, with a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a consultative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage senior client stakeholders and build long-term, trust-based relationships.
  • In-depth working knowledge of commercial banking products, including cash management, trade finance, and working capital solutions.
  • Familiarity with Sharia principles and Islamic finance structures is an added advantage and will be considered positively during shortlisting.
