Role Overview
This role keeps security and ICT installation projects moving by converting high-level schedules into daily, on-the-ground action. You will be the bridge between the project coordinator and field teams, making sure CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and network infrastructure work is resourced, permitted, and executed on time. The position is ideal for someone who can handle the pace of multiple job sites while maintaining the paperwork, materials, and client communication needed to deliver projects cleanly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-installation site inspections and commissioning checks alongside field engineers, flagging any layout or readiness issues before work begins.
- Supervise daily activities of technicians, cabling contractors, and hardware installers, ensuring installations follow approved schematics and client safety standards.
- Confirm that all field crews carry valid site access permits, proper PPE, and calibrated tools before each deployment.
- Help build project timelines, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation plans using planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana.
- Coordinate site kick-offs, milestone reviews, and handover meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, capturing minutes and converting decisions into assigned tasks.
- Prepare material requisition lists, track the delivery of security hardware, cabling, fiber, and testing equipment from warehouse to site, and conduct post-job inventory reconciliations.
- Provide daily site logs, weekly progress metrics, and detailed status reports for management, documenting variations, delays, and technical issues for audit-ready project records.
- Support quality control procedures and HSSE compliance across all installation sites, escalating risks or schedule threats to the lead coordinator early.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications, information technology, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 years of hands-on project support or field execution experience within security systems, ICT infrastructure, ELV, telecommunications, or systems integration.
- Working knowledge of installing or commissioning at least two of the following: CCTV/video surveillance, access control, fire detection, structured cabling, fiber optics, or enterprise networking systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana, or basic AutoCAD is an added advantage.
- A valid Kenyan driving license is a distinct advantage for out-of-station site coordination.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to move comfortably between office planning and active construction environments.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for engaging clients, instructing technical crews, and producing precise reports.
What We Offer / Why Join
- Direct exposure to enterprise-grade security, ELV, and ICT infrastructure projects serving top-tier clients across East Africa.
- A defined career path toward full project management, technical operations leadership, or specialized systems design.
- A collaborative environment alongside system architects, field engineers, and project leads working on complex technical deployments.
