Events & Brand Coordinator

Role Overview

This position sits at the centre of daily brand and guest experience delivery across The Sands Kenya properties. You will take ownership of event enquiries from first contact through to on-the-day execution, while also shaping seasonal programming, festive décor, and the look and feel of the properties’ social media presence. Working closely with an external agency, internal teams, and a range of suppliers, you will make sure every wedding, private dinner, and seasonal activation reflects the brand’s standards and leaves guests with a memorable impression.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and manage wedding and event enquiries, maintaining clear client communication from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Conduct property show-arounds for prospective clients and coordinate private events such as dinners, celebrations, and bespoke gatherings.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure all event logistics—including catering, equipment, staffing, and timing—run seamlessly.
• Support event logistics such as guest accommodation, transfers, and payment processing, and be physically present at key events to oversee delivery.
• Coordinate signature events like the Nomad Craft Fair, along with seasonal programming, festive calendars, and décor planning across all properties.
• Develop and propose new guest experience concepts and event ideas that differentiate the brand and drive engagement.
• Create simple marketing collateral for events, including flyers, posters, and signage, using tools like Canva.
• Manage daily engagement on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and work with the external agency on content calendars, approvals, image selection, Reels creation, and caption reviews.
• Maintain the content schedule in Asana, monitor the media inbox, and respond to incoming enquiries in a timely, on-brand manner.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, events, or marketing is strongly preferred, with hands-on event coordination experience a significant advantage.
• Highly organised, with sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple event timelines and content schedules simultaneously.
• Creative sensibility with a strong grasp of brand identity, visual presentation, and guest experience standards.
• Confident communicator who can engage professionally with guests, vendors, and internal stakeholders in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Comfortable with social media platforms and basic content creation, including Canva and simple video/reel production.
• Proactive and flexible, with a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and peak event periods as required.
• Ability to multitask under pressure while remaining calm, solution-oriented, and guest-focused during live events.
