Role Overview
This position sits at the heart of the investment operations team, acting as the right hand to the Investment Manager across the full portfolio lifecycle. Day to day, you will translate high-level investment strategy into concrete actions: monitoring trades, validating data, producing performance and compliance reports, and coordinating with external brokers and custodians. Your consistency and precision directly protect the firm's regulatory standing with the Capital Markets Authority and the Retirement Benefits Authority, while helping trustees and clients see exactly how their assets are working.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and refreshing asset allocation frameworks for segregated mandates and pooled funds, aligning each portfolio with its stated risk profile and investment policy.
- Track all dealing activity across equities, fixed income, and alternative instruments, confirming trades settle correctly and cash positions stay balanced.
- Build monthly and quarterly portfolio performance packs that compare returns against market indexes and custom benchmarks, with clearly explained attribution.
- Run fundamental and technical research on listed companies, macro trends, and asset classes, turning raw data into actionable buy, hold, and sell recommendations.
- Prepare consolidated reports for management, clients, trustees, and regulators, ensuring each audience receives the right level of detail and that all CMA and RBA filing deadlines are met without exception.
- Act as the day-to-day liaison for stockbrokers, custodians, fund administrators, and other external partners, resolving discrepancies and maintaining seamless information flow.
- Support client presentations, board packs, and marketing collateral by supplying up-to-date performance summaries, market commentary, and investment insights.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or active pursuit of one will strengthen your application.
- A recognised certification such as CISI, CIFA, or meaningful progress toward the CFA charter is strongly preferred.
- Four to six years of hands-on experience in investments, fund management, or a similarly rigorous financial analysis environment.
- Advanced quantitative skills, including comfort with financial modelling, valuation methods, performance attribution, and risk metrics.
- Working proficiency with investment management platforms, market data terminals, and spreadsheet tools used for portfolio analytics.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a track record of producing clear, accurate reports for demanding stakeholders.
- Proven integrity and ethical judgement, aligned with the fiduciary responsibilities of managing client assets under regulated frameworks.
