Assistant Database Administrator

Role Overview

In this role, you will build and support backend solutions for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 or later and Dynamics 365, from configuring environments and extending application features to connecting the platform with external systems. Your work will help turn user needs into reliable, secure services while keeping integrations, databases, and existing Dynamics functionality working effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 solutions.
• Develop and maintain extensions and other application components, including code units, pages, and reports, using C/AL and C/SIDE where applicable.
• Design and implement APIs and web services for exchanging data between Dynamics and external systems.
• Gather and assess user requirements, then translate them into secure, practical backend solutions.
• Develop, test, debug, and deploy server-side code and extensions.
• Investigate application and integration faults, resolve backend issues, and improve system reliability.
• Design SQL Server database structures and tune queries or other database elements for performance.
• Document code, review colleagues’ work, and keep development practices aligned with current backend technologies.
• Work with instructional designers and webmasters to coordinate technical requirements and integrations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 11 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of five years developing solutions with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 or later and/or Dynamics 365.
• Demonstrated proficiency in C/AL and experience developing or modifying Dynamics NAV components.
• Dynamics 365 certification.
• Registration with a relevant professional body.
• A master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
