- Plan and execute daily call routes to cover assigned outlets, convert non-buying accounts, and upsell volume-discount packages.
- Collaborate with regional distributors to ensure optimal inventory levels, timely stock rotation, and zero out-of-stock situations in key outlets.
- Negotiate listing terms, shelf-space allocations, and promotional placements with trade partners while adhering to approval limits.
- Conduct point-of-sale merchandising audits to maintain brand displays, cooling units, and visibility standards.
- Monitor credit exposure, enforce payment terms, and coordinate collections to keep receivables within agreed parameters.
- Gather competitive intelligence on pricing, promotions, and new product launches, then report actionable insights to management.
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales calls, weekly demand forecasts, and monthly territory performance summaries.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related commercial field.
- At least three years of active sales experience in FMCG, preferably handling alcoholic beverages.
- Proven track record of consistently surpassing sales targets and channel quotas.
- Deep understanding of FMCG route-to-market models, trade channel dynamics, and distributor management.
- Strong familiarity with the Mombasa Road trade network and surrounding Nairobi areas; a valid driving license is an advantage.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills to influence trade buyers and close deals.
- High self-motivation, physical stamina, and resilience for demanding field visit schedules and trade activations.
