Job Description

Role Overview

This is an entry-level workshop support position within an aviation maintenance environment. You will work under close supervision, carrying out routine cleaning, handling, and preparation tasks that keep aircraft components and tools ready for certified technicians. Your reliability directly supports the safety, efficiency, and orderliness of daily maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean aircraft parts, components, tools, and workbenches following instructions from supervising staff and maintenance manuals.
  • Move and transport aircraft components safely around the workshop, protecting them from damage and maintaining airworthiness compliance.
  • Handle spares, tools, and equipment with care to avoid personal injury and prevent damage to company property.
  • Use hand tools correctly and return them promptly after each task so they remain available to other team members.
  • Maintain tidy, hazard-free work areas by practising good housekeeping throughout the shift and after job completion.
  • Assist technical materials staff with loading, unloading, and receiving aircraft spares, tools, and equipment.
  • Keep workshop vehicles and equipment clean and serviceable to the required presentation standard.
  • Follow all published health and safety rules, and carry out any additional reasonable duties requested by technicians or engineers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum of C plain, including at least C in English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • A National Trade Test Certificate or equivalent from a recognised institution is an added advantage.
  • Valid driving licence; a heavy vehicle licence is preferred.
  • Computer literacy is required for basic digital record-keeping and communication.
  • Previous experience in airline or motor vehicle maintenance is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good analytical thinking and clear communication skills to follow instructions and report issues accurately.
