Job Description

Role Overview

You will own the AI training component of a programme that prepares young Kenyans—many with limited professional backgrounds and uneven digital confidence—for entry-level technical roles in data services and AI-enabled operations. Your day-to-day revolves around designing, delivering, and constantly improving a curriculum that turns hesitant learners into people who can use AI tools to do real, client-facing work accurately and at speed, often within weeks. This role matters because the quality of your training directly determines whether graduates can hit production benchmarks and reduce ramp-up time once they join the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design the full AI curriculum from scratch: write session plans, create practical tasks, build assessment rubrics, and produce learner workbooks.
  • Deliver training sessions to cohorts of mixed digital ability, adjusting your approach on the fly based on real-time assessment and learner feedback.
  • Define and defend what "ready" means for each cohort, using practical benchmarks set jointly with the operations team—not attendance or subjective impressions.
  • Ensure every piece of training content aligns with what clients actually require in day-to-day work; you maintain that alignment by regularly consulting operations managers and quality leads.
  • Develop other facilitators to run your material independently, so the programme scales without you in every room.
  • Track and report concrete metrics: percentage of cohort meeting a practical benchmark, error rates of AI-assisted work in first 90 days, and reduction in time to reach production standard.
  • Iterate the curriculum based on assessment data—if a third of learners plateau, you dig into why, rebuild the module, and test the fix.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Two or more years of end-to-end training programme ownership—you wrote the materials, taught real people, assessed their progress, and improved the curriculum based on results.
  • Evidence of materials: You can provide a curriculum map, session plan, assessment rubric, learner workbook, or graded practical task that you created and used with real learners.
  • Worked with adults who had mixed digital exposure: You have trained people who were nervous about technology, not colleagues already working in tech.
  • Hands-on AI use in a job: You have used AI tools to produce work that others depended on, under deadlines, where being wrong had real consequences.
  • Live facilitation ability: You can hold a room, adapt your delivery, and prove this in a practical assessment—not on your CV.
  • Minimum education: A relevant Diploma.
  • Strongly preferred: Prior experience training in a BPO or shared-services environment that runs AI-enabled digital operations and data services.
  • Not required: A Computer Science, IT or Data Science degree. Certifications will not substitute for a work sample.

What We Offer / Why Join

You will have real ownership over the curriculum, the standard, and the metrics that define success—this is not a scripted training role. The programme directly connects your work to operations performance, so you see the impact of your changes in real client outcomes. You will also gain the chance to grow other trainers and shape how AI skills are built at scale for an underserved workforce. We review applications based on what you have actually created and taught, not on formal credentials or buzzwords.
