Aftersales Central Planning & Business Performance Analyst

Role Overview

This position acts as the central planning and performance engine for Spiro’s Aftersales operations across Africa. Day to day, the analyst consolidates country parts requirements, builds demand forecasts, tracks orders from requirement through availability, analyses landed cost and margins, and converts operational and financial data into clear actions for leadership. The role matters because it shifts Aftersales away from reactive ordering and backward-looking reports toward forecast-driven replenishment, proactive risk management, and data-led decisions that improve parts availability, fleet uptime, working-capital efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Central planning and forecasting: Lead the pan-African Aftersales planning cycle; translate fleet growth, bike deployment, service demand, and network expansion into rolling monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts. Own spare parts forecasting at country, model, and SKU level using units in operation, service intervals, failure rates, warranty trends, replacement ratios, and historical consumption; set safety stock, reorder rules, and fast-, medium-, slow-, and non-moving inventory segmentation.
• Country order consolidation: Receive, challenge, and validate country requirements against stock, open POs, goods in transit, forecast demand, safety stock, and existing pipeline. Consolidate approved orders to optimise MOQ without creating unnecessary overstock, maintain the master order tracker, and ensure submissions meet the agreed planning calendar.
• Procurement and supply-pipeline tracking: Monitor end-to-end order flow from requirement through approval, PR/PO, supplier confirmation, payment, production, shipment, clearance, transport, receipt, verification, binning, and availability. Track supplier commitments, production status, shipment ETAs, lead-time performance, payment dependencies, and bottlenecks that threaten service operations or fleet uptime.
• Spare parts costing and commercial analysis: Analyse supplier purchase price, freight, duties, taxes, clearance, inland logistics, and total landed cost. Track cost variances against budget, standard cost, and prior purchases; monitor selling price, gross margin, and margin movement by part, category, model, and country; recommend actions on pricing, localization, alternative sourcing, and make/buy decisions.
• Inventory and working-capital performance: Monitor inventory value, accuracy, parts availability, fill rate, stock turns, days of inventory, ageing, excess stock, obsolete stock, and stock-outs. Build country inventory-health dashboards, identify inter-country redistribution opportunities, recommend excess and obsolete stock reduction while protecting service levels, and track inventory investment against budget.
• Aftersales business performance analytics: Develop consolidated analytics for bike inflow, job cards, TAT, MTTR, fleet uptime, grounded bikes, First Time Fix, repeat repairs, technician productivity, workshop productivity, Service App utilisation, parts consumption, and warranty performance. Compare country performance against targets and benchmarks, identify gaps, trends, root causes, risks, and improvement opportunities, and translate findings into management actions.
• Revenue, financial performance, and management reporting: Consolidate spare parts revenue, labour revenue, total Aftersales revenue, gross margin, cost per repair, revenue per job card, and revenue per service location. Analyse budget versus actual performance, revenue leakage, and commercial growth opportunities; support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and profitability analysis. Build standardised Pan-African dashboards and weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for MBRs, QBRs, and executive presentations, automating recurring reports where practical.
• Country partnership, data governance, and continuous improvement: Act as a planning and performance business partner to Aftersales Country Leadership Teams through structured performance reviews, challenge of forecast assumptions, corrective action plans, and tracking of agreed actions to closure. Support effective use of SAP/ERP, Service App, inventory systems, CRM, Power BI, and Excel/Power Query; maintain standardised KPI definitions, data-quality checks, and reconciliations. Drive the transition from reactive ordering to forecast-driven replenishment, identify bottlenecks and non-value-adding activities, build analytical business cases, and track realised benefits.
