Role Overview
You will be a core member of the Finance Department, responsible for keeping the organisation's financial operations accurate, organised, and audit-ready. Day to day, this means recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing supporting documentation that feeds into month-end close and management reporting. Your work ensures that financial decisions are backed by reliable, current data in a setting where precision directly supports patient care and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and verify financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and coding for all entries.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice matching, payment runs, and follow-up on outstanding amounts.
- Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations to keep all financial records accurate and up to date.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Maintain organised filing systems for financial records and supporting documentation to facilitate audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling historical data and tracking actual performance against targets.
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely, accurate financial information is available when needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- CPA Part II or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control processes.
- Practical experience with accounting software and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliations.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
