Accountant

Role Overview

This full-time Accountant position is based at our head office in Ajman, UAE, and supports the daily financial operations of a growing creditors management firm. Day to day, you will own the bookkeeping cycle, reconcile accounts, and keep management informed with accurate reporting. Your work keeps cash flow transparent and ensures every deadline is met without last-minute pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate records of all financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales, and payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, including verifying invoices, issuing payments, and chasing outstanding balances.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, profit and loss statements, and management summaries for review.
• Post journal entries and maintain the chart of accounts in line with standard accounting practices.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations, where applicable.
• Assist with audit preparation by gathering supporting documentation and answering auditor inquiries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end closing activities as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Solid, hands-on experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, with a clear understanding of core accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to spot errors before they become problems.
• Proficiency with accounting software and a high level of competence in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and consistently meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English; Arabic is a plus.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent practical experience will be considered.
