Job Description

Job Title: MYP/DP Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to deliver the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) effectively. The ideal candidate will foster an engaging learning environment, support holistic student development, and collaborate with colleagues to uphold the highest academic standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effective delivery of the MYP and Diploma programmes.
  • Use a range of monitoring and assessment strategies.
  • Contribute to collaborative planning of the MYP/DP curriculum.
  • Create an enabling teaching and learning classroom environment.
  • Integrate the AK Strands in the teaching and learning process.
  • Organize and manage teaching and learning resources.
  • Supervise Internal Assessments, Personal Project, and Extended Essay.
  • Provide students with the mentorship and pastoral support necessary for holistic development.
  • Contribute to the development of enrichment and residential experiences for students.
  • Communicate academic concerns to relevant mentor or Head of Year.
  • Provide support for non-specialists in the team.
  • Inspire and motivate students to gain a deeper appreciation for the subject area.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • A recognized teaching qualification or a B.Ed/M.Ed.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching the IB curriculum.
  • Must be registered with the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
