It is located 14 kilometres from the City of Nairobi along Kiambu Road and 1 kil… Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) is a non-denominational Technical , Vocational & Education Training (TVET) Institute under the Ministry of Education State Department of Vocational & Technical Training. It is located 14 kilometres from the City of Nairobi along Kiambu Road and 1 kilometer from Kiambu Town. It was built through Harambee effort by the local people and some generous donations from two Protestant church organizations I.C.C.O. of Netherlands and E.Z.E. of Germany. KIST admitted the first batch of 125 students, 75 male and 50 female in September 1973. Over the years KIST has diversfied in offering more than 40 courses in Diplomas, Certificates and Artisan Programs. Since its inception KIST has produced graduates who fit globally competitive needs of modern employees and the merging challenges The Board of Governors (BOG) which is appointed by the Ministry of Education in consultation with the stakeholders oversees the day-to-day runing of the institute. The core function of KIST is to provide training in TVET programme and promote research,innovations and technological development. KIST is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has a holistic approach to training,aimed at achieving Kenya Industrialization as envisaged in the Vision 2030. Minimum Requirements (Likely)

Applicants should:

  • Hold relevant academic qualifications (Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s depending on the role).

  • Have prior experience in TVET training, technical instruction, auditing, inventory management, or driving school instruction.

  • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.

  • Be familiar with TVET standards, safety procedures, workshop operations, and institutional compliance requirements.

  • Show professionalism, integrity, and alignment with The Kiambu National Polytechnic’s mission as a leading public TVET institution under the Ministry of Education.

  • Store Keeper roles require inventory control, record‑keeping, and stock management.

  • Internal Auditor roles require compliance checks, reporting, and risk assessment.

  • Driving School Instructor roles require a valid instructor license, road safety knowledge, and practical training skills.

  • Mechatronics and Masonry Technician roles require hands‑on technical expertise, workshop facilitation, and student support.
