Position Title: Production Supervisor – Multi-Department (Plastics, Metal & Wood)

Direct Line Reporting: Plant Manager

Industry Sector: Manufacturing

Gross Salary Structure: Kshs. 50,000

Location: Kariobangi

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-focused Production Supervisor to direct daily manufacturing operations across our combined Plastic, Metal, and Wood fabrication workshops. Your primary objective is to safeguard floor productivity, enforce stringent safety frameworks, and maintain uncompromised quality standards across multiple assembly lines. This position bridges cross-departmental floor coordination with meticulous technical inspection; you will guide factory components from initial job card allocation and material handling through to advanced multi-tier chemical coat checks and final weight verification. The role demands an assertive, organized floor manager who can spot operational bottlenecks instantly and lead diverse technical teams with total discipline.

Scope of Responsibilities

General Workshop Management & Workflow Sync

  • Oversee daily manufacturing runs across the Plastic, Metal, and Wood workshops, guaranteeing that all output targets match scheduling timelines.

  • Maintain tight communication and raw material alignment between individual departments to preserve a smooth, uninterrupted assembly flow.

  • Audit real-time production lines to eliminate operational friction points, machine idle times, and labor inefficiencies.

  • Design and execute localized continuous improvement plans to lower material wastage and boost mechanical efficiency.

Sector Oversight (Wood & Metal Fabrications)

  • Supervise workshop arrivals, shift check-ins, and strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines within the wood department.

  • Distribute daily production floor goals utilizing structured job cards to maximize personnel yield and clear task clarity.

  • Monitor metal fabrication runs end-to-end, enforcing correct equipment setup, routine tooling checks, and preventative hardware safety rules.

  • Audit structural welds, cuts, and finishes at every manufacturing gate to maintain absolute uniformity across all wood and metal components.

Precision Quality Control (Plastic Department)

  • Execute multi-stage quality appraisals, validating that items are mounted correctly on production hangers while logging technician timestamps.

  • Inspect incoming components to verify they are perfectly clean, structurally sterilized, and free of dust or physical pollutants.

  • Count and verify exact batch quantities per hanger before greenlighting chemical or structural treatments.

  • Review items post-oiling to guarantee pristine surface smoothness, catching scratch anomalies, spills, or compounding defects early.

  • Audit coated parts before authorizing final decorative gold plating, checking that final color densities match approved laboratory masters.

Logging, Analytics & Final Packaging Approval

  • Compile comprehensive, real-time daily production logs capturing all shop floor activities from shift kickoff to evening shutdown.

  • Track, evaluate, and report critical manufacturing indices including total daily output volumes, scrap mass, downtime causes, and efficiency rates.

  • Verify the count, neatness, and physical presentation of all boxed items prior to warehouse handover, checking weight configurations against technical spec sheets.

  • Guarantee all shipping boxes are precisely stamped and labeled with exact product classifications, total weight parameters, and color codes.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

  • Professional Longevity: Proven practical experience operating in a supervisory, line-manager, or team-leader capacity within a fast-moving manufacturing plant.

  • Industrial Familiarity: Strong operational knowledge of production workflows within the plastics, metallurgy, or commercial woodworking sectors.

  • Core Competencies: Elite capability in executing high-precision quality control, material capacity planning, and shop-floor asset coordination.

Leadership Capabilities

  • Command & Discipline: Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to direct technical laborers, enforce rules, and maintain floor order.

  • Meticulous Precision: An uncompromising attention to detail with a quality-first mindset capable of identifying microscopic surface flaws.

  • Multi-Line Multi-tasking: Exceptional organizational stamina, with the capacity to manage and audit three distinct material processing sectors simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • Operational Autonomy: Take direct command of a diverse multi-line factory ecosystem with the power to implement productivity-boosting structural workflows.

  • Technical Expansion: Deepen your industrial expertise across varied raw material applications, chemical coating workflows, and high-volume packaging systems.

  • Career Development: Sharpen your executive plant management, data logging, and resource forecasting capabilities within a highly active industrial hub.
