Role Overview
We are seeking a mature, highly organized, and legally astute Senior HR Officer to anchor our human capital department and build structured workforce systems. Your primary mandate is to coordinate day-to-day HR operations, driving a culture of high performance, strict accountability, and institutional productivity across the organization. This position balances operational administration with executive advisory functions; you will guide the staff lifecycle from targeted recruitment and structured onboarding through to rigorous compliance monitoring and payroll inputs. The role calls for a firm, confidential leader who can command professional respect, enforce workplace discipline fairly, and seamlessly align personnel practices with regulatory standards.
Areas of Accountability
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Staffing

Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding pipelines to secure top-tier talent.

Draft precise job specifications, structure interviewing workflows, and compile rigorous hiring documentation.

Direct corporate induction and orientation programs to ensure swift operational alignment for new employees.

Manage updated staff establishment databases and manpower records to support strategic talent management and succession planning.
Human Resource Administration & Records Security

Maintain highly accurate, confidential personnel files, active employee databases, and secure custody of physical/digital records.

Draft formal employment contracts, confirmation briefs, internal transfers, promotion letters, and structural HR correspondences.

Supervise leave administration registers, daily staff attendance records, and active probation monitoring pipelines.
Performance Management & Workforce Analytics

Drive the execution of seasonal staff performance appraisal cycles across all corporate branches.

Monitor, audit, and support the implementation of targeted Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for underperforming lines.

Assist departmental heads in architecting clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational performance targets.

Generate objective workforce metrics, turnover analyses, and general HR scorecards for executive review.
Labor Relations, Discipline & Compliance

Arbitrate internal grievances and manage complex employee relations issues with ultimate confidentiality and professional poise.

Coordinate formal disciplinary hearings, investigations, and conflict-resolution procedures fairly and in line with company policy.

Guarantee total institutional compliance with the Employment Act of Kenya, Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations, and statutory systems (NSSF, NHIF/SHIF, Housing Levy, PAYE).

Participate actively in writing, updating, and rolling out HR manuals, audit recommendations, and corporate behavioral guidelines.
Payroll input & Staff Wellness

Consolidate and verify accurate payroll inputs, tracking leave adjustments, overtime requests, deductions, and staffing updates alongside the finance team.

Support the administration of staff benefit packages, corporate insurance covers, and medical schemes.

Design and champion holistic staff wellness programs, team-building models, and engagement initiatives to foster a collaborative culture.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria

Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration, or a matching discipline from a recognized institution.

Professional Affiliation: Mandatory active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya in good standing.

Proven Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive human resource experience, with at least three (3) years spent operating in a senior administrative or supervisory capacity. (Experience within a SACCO, microfinance, bank, or regulated cooperative environment is highly advantageous).

Added Advantages: A Higher Diploma in HRM or a complete Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) qualification.
