Job Description

Job Title: Meat Waiter

Industry: Hospitality

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Salary: Kshs. 22,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve meat dishes to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Ensure all food is presented and served according to company standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area and serving stations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any guest inquiries or concerns.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and serving of food.
  • Assist in setting up and arranging dining areas before service.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Carving & Serving:

  • Expertly carve and portion different types of meat in accordance with customer preferences and company standards.
  • Present and serve meat dishes in an appealing and professional manner at the service station or directly at guest tables.

Customer Service:

  • Greet guests warmly and offer information on meat selections, cuts, and cooking styles.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, or concerns with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service delivery.

Station Management:

  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked meat station at all times.
  • Ensure all tools and carving equipment are clean, sanitized, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor inventory levels of meat and related supplies, reporting any shortages to management.

Hygiene & Safety:

  • Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the meat station, service area, and personal grooming as per company policy.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the kitchen and service team to ensure seamless coordination during service.
  • Assist with other food and beverage service duties as needed during busy periods.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Hospitality or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Proven experience in meat carving, especially in a buffet or table-side service setup.
  • Excellent carving and plating skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal
  • High standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy service hours.
