Job Description

Responsibilities

 

Leading and managing Zurit's litigation department

 

Advising on all matters regarding Corporate and commercial law; including the interpretation, impact and effect of the relevant laws that govern these areas of business;

 

Consulting with clients and opposing counsel

 

Developing and maintaining good client relationship, gaining client’s confidence and that of other professionals.

 

Designing commercial and legal structures that lead to innovative solutions

 

File management and court diary management.

 

Handling Company Secretarial roles within Zurit Consulting

 

Negotiating, drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts

 

Overseeing the legal budget and structure, including policies, procedures, registers, safes and company documentation

 

Negotiating, drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts.

 

Ensuring that legal compliance checks on all facets of Law affecting the business are carried put and updated regularly;

 

Attending court, arbitrations, mediations and proceedings before tribunals.

 

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

 

Requirements

 

Second Class Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.

 

Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with not less that one (1) year post admission experience in a busy law firm.

 

A Certified Public Secretary, CPS

 

Knowledge of relevant practice and understanding in Litigation, Conveyancing, Arbitration and Commercial law, and any other respective laws and regulations.

 

Must have attained a B+ and above in O levels/ high school

 

Excellent organization, administration, communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to pro-actively and creatively manage potential legal issues

 

High level of analytical and problem-solving skills

 

A team player willing to lead, collaborate, adapt and work with minimum supervision with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

High levels of energy and enthusiasm and ability to multitask and as well work under pressure
