Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Timely Food Delivery

  • Pick up food and beverage orders from the restaurant and ensure prompt delivery to customers at their specified locations.
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently to minimize delivery times and avoid delays.

 Order Accuracy

  • Cross-check order details (e.g., items, quantities, packaging) before leaving the restaurant to ensure all customer orders are correct and complete.
  • Ensure secure handling and transport of food to maintain quality and prevent spillage or damage.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries.
  • Provide real-time updates to customers in case of delays or issues with their orders.

Vehicle Operation and Maintenance

  • Operate the delivery motorbike in a safe, responsible manner in accordance with Kenyan traffic laws.
  • Perform basic checks on the motorbike (fuel, tire pressure, lights, etc.) before each shift to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Report any mechanical issues or incidents immediately to the supervisor or management.

Cash and Payment Handling

  • Collect payments from customers (cash, M-PESA, or other specified methods) where applicable.
  • Ensure proper handling and reconciliation of any collected funds at the end of each shift.

Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate logs of completed deliveries and any challenges faced during the day.
  • Report customer feedback, complaints, or incidents to the restaurant management for follow-up.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Proven experience as a delivery rider, preferably with platforms like Glovo or Uber Eats
  • Must own or be able to operate a motorbike (if one is not provided)
  • Valid motorcycle driving license
  • Good knowledge of the Gigiri and surrounding areas
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be punctual, trustworthy, and customer-focused
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Salary: Kshs. 20,000
