Job Description

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems within the factory. This role plays a key part in sustaining high operational efficiency and implementing preventive maintenance measures that support continuous production.

 

Key Skills & Qualifications:

 

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: Any technical course in mechanics is an added advantage.

 

Must be certified by Isuzu.

 

3 years of Experience in a busy automotive garage.

 

Experience in 4 to 24 wheeler repair and maintenance

 

Conduct scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel and petrol vehicles.

 

Rapidly respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs or coordinate vehicle recovery.

 

Verify roadworthiness of vehicles and functionality of safety gadgets (dash-cams, GPS, fuel sensors, etc.). Accurately update maintenance records and submit weekly summaries.

 

Enforce proper parts usage and fraud prevention protocols.

 

Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready workshop environment.

 

Support driver training on preventive maintenance and basic first aid.

 

Collaborate with departments such as Dispatch, Loss Control, Finance, and Procurement to ensure operational alignment.

 

Key Competencies

 

Strong technical background in diesel and petrol vehicle systems.

 

Diagnostic proficiency and mechanical repair experience. Familiarity with NTSA, WIBA, OSHA regulations.

 

Experience in fraud detection and cost control in fleet maintenance. Excellent problem-solving and time management.

 

Accurate technical reporting and ERP/logbook entry.

 

High integrity and accountability.

 

Attention to detail and teamwork mindset.

 

Commitment to workshop safety and continuous improvement.
