Job Summary

Our client is a leading fintech company that specializes in empowering financial institutions, particularly Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Savings, Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), and various financial institutions with cutting-edge technology solutions. They are seeking to hire a skilled Information Security Manager to lead our cybersecurity efforts, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in information security, risk management, and compliance. You will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies, responding to threats, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement information security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify security threats.
• Monitor IT systems for security breaches and investigate incidents.
• Lead the incident response process, mitigating risks and reporting findings.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Implement access controls, encryption, and endpoint protection strategies.
• Oversee security awareness training for employees.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and recommend proactive security measures.
• Work with vendors, auditors, and stakeholders to strengthen security postures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or IT risk management.
• Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, and antivirus software.
• Experience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, etc.).
• Familiarity with network security, penetration testing, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with SOC operations and threat intelligence.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, security automation, and SIEM tools.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance standards.
