Job Description
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Vision and Mission: Develop and communicate a clear vision and mission for the school.
- Curriculum Implementation: Ensure the curriculum is effectively delivered, aligning with national education standards.
- Teaching Quality: Support and monitor teaching staff to maintain high educational standards, including professional development opportunities.
- Team Building: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment among staff.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional growth.
Administrative Management
- School Operations: Oversee daily operations, including timetabling, resource allocation, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Policy Implementation: Ensure school policies, procedures, and regulations are effectively implemented and followed.
- Financial Management: Manage the school budget, ensuring efficient use of funds and accountability.
Learner Welfare
- Safety and Discipline: Ensure a safe, orderly, and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
- Pastoral Care: Address learners personal and academic needs, promoting well-being and inclusivity.
- Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, encouraging their involvement in their children's education.
Community Engagement
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main liaison between the school and the wider community, including local authorities and educational bodies.
- Community Partnerships: Develop partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and other schools to enhance educational opportunities and resources.
Strategic Planning
- School Improvement Plans: Develop and implement strategic plans focused on improving school performance and learner outcomes.
- Data Analysis: Use data to monitor progress, inform decisions, and implement evidence-based improvements.
Requirements
- Must be a born again and mature Christian who conforms with the CITAM Statement of Faith.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) and basic knowledge in guidance and counseling.
- Good standing with the Teacher Service Commission (TSC).
- A minimum of Eight (8) years’ experience as a head teacher in a reputable institution of learning.
- Vast knowledge of learning techniques and approaches.
- Excellent leadership skills and self-drive.
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
