Job Description
The Incumbent must possess at least 4 years’ experience in Tax Accounting. He/she should have knowledge of Tax Procedures, Auditing, Financial Reporting, Data Analyzing and Cost Controls.
Purpose:
- Responsible for analyzing fiscal matters and preparing, submitting and managing tax statements and returns.
- Provides advice on financial and tax matters.
- Should have an in-depth knowledge of the regulations, laws and acts that govern this process.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and update tax provision schedules, data collection systems, and maintain the corporate tax database.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of all relevant taxes.
- Ensure adherence to Tax Regulations and requirements.
- Liaise with tax authorities over tax payment matters.
- Determine tax optimization and recommend strategies to improve cash flow and profits.
- Evaluate tax regulations and suggest appropriate policies.
- Keep abreast to all relevant local and international Tax trends and regulations.
- Provide services and support on business operation matters.
- Recommend tax advisory and tax strategies that align with business goals.
- Liaise with various tax authorities, consultants, experts and provide tax related support including training.
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
- Establish appropriate system or processes for tax risk management.
- Prepare tax related reports including tax calculations, project tax analysis, estimates/provisions, and forecasts.
- Any other duty as assigned by management.
Key Competencies and Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field.
- CPA/ACCA/KESRA Training – added advantage.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant/Auditor/Consulting or similar role.
- Tech savvy.
