CES 2026 is already delivering some of the most exciting smart home innovations, and Xthings is leading the charge. The company’s latest Ultraloq Bolt Sense smart lock introduces dual biometric security, combining facial recognition with palm vein scanning for touch-free access. Unlike traditional fingerprint locks, this system reads vein patterns beneath the skin, making it more reliable even when hands are wet, dirty, or in complete darkness.
Palm vein scanning is still a rarity in consumer smart locks, but Xthings promises unmatched accuracy. By using near-infrared light to map veins, the Bolt Sense eliminates common pitfalls of fingerprint readers, such as smudges or worn fingerprints. This approach allows users to unlock doors effortlessly, day or night, without touching the device or using a smartphone app.
The Bolt Sense comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing seamless integration with smart home systems. While Matter support is not yet finalized, Xthings confirms that updates are planned before the lock’s Q2 2026 release. This forward-looking approach ensures compatibility with multiple smart home ecosystems once it hits the market.
For users who prefer a simpler setup, Xthings is also releasing the Latch 7 Pro in Q1 2026. This lock lacks palm vein scanning but supports Matter-over-Thread and the company’s Aliro smart home platform. It’s an excellent choice for early adopters seeking advanced connectivity without the biometric bells and whistles.
Beyond locks, Xthings is showcasing new smart security cameras designed to operate over HaLow Wi-Fi, providing extended range for home surveillance. These cameras, along with the Bolt Sense and Latch 7 Pro, highlight Xthings’ growing focus on secure, connected home solutions that go beyond conventional smart devices.
The Ultraloq Bolt Sense represents a significant step forward in home security. By integrating face and palm recognition, it promises faster, more reliable, and hygienic access. As biometric tech becomes more accessible, consumers can expect smart locks to evolve into smarter, safer, and more user-friendly home solutions.
Xthings plans to release the Bolt Sense in Q2 2026, while the Latch 7 Pro is expected in Q1. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed, but early indications suggest the company is aiming for a competitive range that appeals to both tech enthusiasts and everyday homeowners.
