Role Summary

The successful candidate shall report directly to the Chairperson of the Council and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the management of the Council to ensure the execution of the Council’s mandate. The job holder shall be in charge of the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Council and may perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Council from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

i. Be the Administrative head and Accounting Officer of the Council, manage and plan for the efficient use of Council resources;
ii. Administer the day-to-day operations of the Council;
iii. Develop and recommend to the Council the annual business plans for the institution;
iv. Ensure that the Institution has an effective management structure including succession plans;
v. Ensure that Board papers are accurately written, are relevant and availed to the Council members in good time;
vi. Serve as a link between the Council and the management;
vii. Provide leadership to senior management and staff;
viii. Oversee the implementation of the Council’s decisions in an effective, efficient, result oriented and timely manner;
ix. Be responsible for the achievement of the objectives of the institution;
