Meta’s Hyperscape is ready to turn your real living room into a VR hangout by using your Quest 3 or Quest 3S headset to scan any room. This technology creates photorealistic, digital replicas of real-world spaces. Unlike before, when Hyperscape rooms were solo experiences, you can now invite friends to join, making your living room a shared virtual playground.
Currently, up to eight people can visit a Hyperscape room together. Meta plans to expand this number in the future. Guests can join using a Quest VR headset or the Meta Horizon mobile app, offering flexible ways to connect with friends or family virtually.
Meta is rolling out the feature gradually. Some users may need to wait a few months before being able to invite friends. Once the update is available, you’ll need to rescan your space to create a shareable VR world. Patience is key, but the immersive experience will be worth it.
Meta is improving Hyperscape with on-device rendering and immersive audio, making your VR hangouts feel more lifelike. This update strengthens Meta’s push toward a social metaverse, allowing users to interact naturally in photorealistic digital spaces.
