Apple’s iOS 26 Update Fixes Liquid Glass Control Center Visibility
Apple is finally responding to user feedback about the Liquid Glass Control Center in iOS 26—and it’s a welcome change. In the first iOS 26 developer beta, many users struggled to read the interface because the semi-transparent design made everything underneath overly visible. But with the iOS 26 developer beta 2 update, Apple has made the Control Center more opaque, significantly improving readability and user experience.
Liquid Glass Control Center gets a visual overhaul
One of the most common complaints with the initial Liquid Glass design was its excessive transparency. When users opened the Control Center, it looked cluttered and hard to navigate, especially with busy wallpapers or app icons underneath. In beta 2, Apple has refined the opacity—what’s behind the Control Center is now less distracting, making the icons and controls easier to see at a glance.
Color bleeding issues still exist in Liquid Glass Control Center
While the update is a big improvement, it’s not perfect. Some colors from background elements still bleed into Control Center buttons, which might confuse some users. However, Apple seems to be listening closely to feedback and iterating fast. These changes are expected to continue as we approach the public release of iOS 26 this fall.
Other updates in iOS 26 developer beta 2
Besides the Liquid Glass tweaks, developer beta 2 includes a few other notable updates. A new ringtone—an alternate version of the popular “Reflections” sound—has caught users' attention for its catchy, game-like vibe. It’s already drawing comparisons to the Ace Attorney series. If you’re interested in trying out these features early, Apple offers a developer beta now, with a public beta coming soon for more casual users.
