Manager, Internal Audit: Reporting To The Governing Council
Main Duties
- Audit Planning – Oversee the preparation of the annual audit plan in line with key risk areas and strategic priorities of the hospital; Prepare audit notifications for the intended function where the Risk audit will be carried out in order to inform and detail the audit areas; Attend entrance meetings in order to share the audit notification and program with auditees
- Audit Reporting – Oversee the preparation and submit the audit program including risk assessment, information gathering, identification of testing controls and test objectives to ensure quality risk-based audits. Oversee the execution of audits in line with the audit program, ensuring preparation of the related working papers and submitting the same for review to the department head. Receive and ensure that there is attendance to the working papers review notes and raise issues and/or audit findings in the audit system
- Audit finding execution – Schedule and attend exit meetings with auditees to discuss and agree on audit findings, highlight internal weaknesses and obtain auditees’ feedback. Ensure follow-up of auditees for their comments, action points and timelines in order to update the final report. Ensure that monthly follow-ups with auditees on action points are closed for implementation of the audit recommendations and ensure preparation of related reports for submission to the Head of Department
- Management of Audit Process – Ensure preparation of the executive summary of the final audit report for submission to the Board Audit Committee. Oversee the carrying out of special audits upon request by management for purposes of investigation. Monitor and ensure implementation of external audit recommendations to ensure timely closure. Carry out continuous audits for high-risk areas in line with the risk audit plan
- Performance Management – Align the efforts of the employees by translating the unit’s objectives into actionable initiatives and effectively cascading them to staff to ensure accountability and drive the execution of the plan
- Coaching and Developing Others – Working closely with HR and relevant stakeholders, establish systems to attract, develop, engage, manage performance, retain talented staff, and create an environment where they can realize their full potential and contribute to the delivery of an exceptional and superior patient experience in addition to other divisional and organizational goals
- Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or other business-related fields from a recognized institution
- A master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or any other related business field from a recognized institution is an added advantage
- Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ACCA, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
- Should be a registered member of any of the following professional bodies: Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or Information Systems Audit Control Association (ISACA)
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis techniques
- Strong organizational, critical thinking and delegation skills
- High level of Integrity

Physiotherapist
Main Duties
- Conducting evaluation and assessment of patients having physical disabilities, disorders or injuries
- Identifying treatment goals and appropriate therapy techniques and equipment to achieve the treatment goals
- Planning for the most efficient and effective treatment regime
- Carrying out the rehabilitative program and designate the party to carry out a treatment plan, e.g. patient, employee, ward staff, family members etc
- Conduct regular evaluations of patients to assess progress and response to therapy and revise treatment programs where necessary to achieve goals
- Participating in treatment team meetings with Doctors, nurses and other physiotherapists in order to provide information regarding patient assessment and to further coordinate treatment goals and programs
- Advising and recommending to referring doctors on necessary interventions and/or change of management
- Developing treatment plans to be followed by patients after discharge, advising the importance of continuing physiotherapy after discharge, and organizing their physiotherapy appointments
- Training patients, families and other professionals in treatment techniques and exercises outlined in the program
- Writing initial reports of results on the evaluation of the patient’s physical condition and preparing written treatment plans
- Providing statistical information by preparing year-end summaries on patients treated and their conditions and progress
- Conducting educational sessions on therapy treatment
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Diploma or BSc in Physiotherapy
- Registered with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists
- At least two (2) experience as a physiotherapist in a busy setup
- Good communication skills and honesty
- Good interpersonal skills

Occupational Therapist
Main Duties
- Evaluating Physicians/Surgeons’ referrals and patients’ medical records to determine occupational therapy needs
- Conferring with physicians, surgeons, psychologists, nurses and social workers regarding patient cases
- Developing individual treatment plans and administrating relevant therapy regimes
- Conducting regular evaluations of patients to assess progress and response to therapy and revise the treatment program as necessary
- Participating in treatment team meetings to provide information regarding patient assessment and treatment program
- Maintaining daily treatment evaluation notes of patient’s progress and discharge planning notes and summaries
- Providing training to other disciplines inside the institution on occupation therapy and special techniques or equipment used in patient care
- Training patients in the use of splints made and care of the same to avoid injuries like blisters
- Training patients to use prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommending modifications
- Adapting or modifying prefabricated equipment to meet individual needs, and monitor use of adaptive equipment
- Preparing written treatment plans and maintaining a record of patients treated
- Developing of home occupational therapy plan for discharged patients
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Degree in a related field with 2 years of work experience
- Higher Diploma in a related field with 4 years work experience
- Diploma in Occupational Therapy with 5 years’ work experience
- Registered by the Kenya Occupational Therapy Association (KOTA)
- Good customer services skills
- Problem-solving skills

Senior Tutor
Main Duties
- Providing Theoretical and clinical instructions for students to ensure mastery of skills in all Nursing and midwifery programs
- Monitoring student’s performance to maintain institutional standards
- Developing and reviewing curriculum in line with Nursing Council of Kenya requirements to enhance nursing and midwifery knowledge and skills
- Developing and coordinating extra-curricular activities for students at regular intervals
- Ensuring proper management of consumables and assets to maximize efficiency and cost control

- Conducting performance assessments of tutors and instructors regularly

Required Qualifications for the Position
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
- Higher diploma in Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing, Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery or Master in Midwifery or any related nursing field is an added advantage
- Counselling certificate
- Computer Proficiency
- Minimum 5 years in Nursing/Midwifery active teaching practice
- Registered with NCK with a valid practising license

Senior Registrar Radiology & Imaging
Main Duties
- Interpretation and reporting of the imaging studies that includes Conventional Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography, Cross-sectional imaging (MRI and CT). Additional skill in basic image-guided interventional procedures would be an added advantage
- Work alongside radiographers, sonographers and other health professionals in administering treatment
- Ensuring proper handling of emergency cases when on duty
- Ensuring that high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care are maintained
- In liaison with the HOD and other radiologists, ensuring that legal obligations for radiation protection are observed
- Participating in clinical audits and reviewing programs for the department
- Ensuring consistency with the procedure protocols, patient conditions, physical abilities and age requirements
- Screening all patients using best practice in radiation protection to protect patients, fellow staff members and self
- Attending and on request, facilitating multi-disciplinary meetings
- Attending to teleconsultations and other Ad hoc consultations
- Provision of expert radiological advice to Hospital clinical teams as may be requested
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required
- Any other duty assigned
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB)
- Masters of Medicine in Radiology
- Computer Proficiency
- Valid practicing license and indemnity
- Ability to utilize Radiology Information system (RIS) and PACS
