    The patient, who initially sought Dh200,000 in damages with 12% annual interest, claimed the surgeon used an illfitted cervical cage, leading to corrective surgery.

    The Supreme Committee of Medical Liability found the mistake was not gross negligence but still a breach of medical standards.

    Holding the hospital jointly liable as the doctor’s employer, the court ruled both must compensate the patient for material and moral damages.
