As the new academic year 2025–2026 begins, the UAE government has announced flexible work hours for federal employees. On the first day of school, parents working in government roles can adjust arrival and departure timings—up to three hours—so they can accompany their children.

Parents of nursery and kindergarten students will also get flexibility during the first week to settle into pick-and-drop routines. Additionally, employees may take up to three hours off during the school year to attend parent-teacher meetings, graduation ceremonies, or other school events.

This move aims to support families during school transitions while ensuring smooth workflow across government entities.
