    2. Probation Period
    - Max: 6 months
    - Employer: 14 days’ notice for termination Employee:
    • 14 days’ notice if leaving UAE
    • 30 days’ notice if joining another UAE employer

    When Resigning from a Company
    1. Notice Period
    - Min 30 days’ written notice (or as per contract)
    - Must be served by both parties unless mutually waived

    2. End-of-Service Benefits
    - Eligible after 1 year of service
    Gratuity:
    • 21 days’ basic wage/year (first 5 years)
    • 30 days’ basic wage/year (after 5 years)
    Final settlement within 14 days of last working day

    3. Visa & Work Permit
    - Employer must cancel work permit & visa after all dues are cleared

    4. Unlawful Termination
    - If terminated without valid reason, employer may owe up to 3 months’ salary (as per contract)  less

This payout marks an increase from the previous year's bonus of 6.65 months' salary.

    The airline's total earnings surged by 24%, reaching S$2.7 billion, with revenue climbing to an all-time high of S$19 billion, up 7% year-on-year. Passenger numbers grew by 17.3%, and along with its budget carrier, Scoot, Singapore Airlines transported 36.4 million passengers throughout the year. The airline attributed this success to sustained strong demand for air travel, particularly following the full reopening of borders in North Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan, after the pandemic.

    In a broader trend, Singapore Airlines isn't the only major carrier rewarding its staff; Emirates also recently announced a bonus equivalent to 20 weeks' salary after recording its own historic profits.  less

    I know the job market can feel tough lately. You apply, you wait, you hear nothing back, and it’s easy to wonder if it’s even worth continuing.

    But as a recruitment consultant who speaks to hiring managers every day, I want to remind you: good opportunities are still out there, and you absolutely can stand out. Though some may not be posted, but headhunted for.

    Your LinkedIn profile is your shop window.
    - Recruiters do check it. Add a headline that reflects what you’re looking for, use a friendly professional photo, and make sure your “About” section tells your story, not just your job titles.

    Interview prep = confidence.
    - Don’t just rehearse answers, research the company’s mission, values, and recent news. Then, prepare 2–3 thoughtful questions to ask them. (It shows initiative and genuine interest.)

    Stay visible and engaged.
    - Comment on posts, share insights, connect with people in your target industry. You never know who’s hiring or can refer you.

    Finally, remember this: your value isn’t defined by your current job status.
