Job Description

Role Overview

This role focuses on shaping raw footage into polished, compelling stories across three core formats: studio interviews, documentary-style narratives, and podcast episodes. Day to day, you will handle the full post-production pipeline—from syncing multi-camera footage and cleaning up location audio to layering sound design and graphics—ensuring each piece aligns with the production team’s editorial vision. Your work directly supports the company’s ability to deliver high-impact content that informs and engages audiences on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit video and audio content for studio interviews, documentary sequences, and podcast episodes, maintaining consistent quality and narrative flow.
  • Sync and balance multi-track audio from interview microphones, ambient mics, and field recordings to achieve clean, professional sound.
  • Color-grade footage to match the intended mood of each project, applying corrections for varied lighting conditions from studio to outdoor locations.
  • Incorporate graphics, lower thirds, B-roll, and archival clips to enhance storytelling without distracting from the core message.
  • Manage versioning and file organization across multiple concurrent projects, adhering to strict delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and sound designers during review rounds, implementing feedback efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues—such as codec mismatches or sync drift—during the edit and at the export stage.
  • Occasionally travel to field locations to capture B-roll or provide on-site editing support, ensuring smooth workflows away from the main studio.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Film Production, Multimedia, Audio Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on video and audio editing experience, with a strong portfolio that includes studio interviews, documentary-style pieces, and podcast editing.
  • Advanced storytelling instincts: you know how to structure a sequence to build tension, emotion, or clarity without losing the audience.
  • Meticulous attention to technical detail—timeline organization, audio levels, frame accuracy, and export settings are never an afterthought.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset: you can adapt when location sound is tricky or footage needs rescuing, without sacrificing final quality.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines, prioritising tasks calmly under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; you’re comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback in a cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when project timelines demand it, and to travel occasionally for on-site editing or production support.
