Role Overview
This role keeps the warehouse running like a well-oiled machine, turning live customer orders into correctly picked, verified, and loaded deliveries. You will be the go-to person on the floor, guiding assistants and loaders, watching over stock accuracy, and making sure every vehicle leaves with exactly what was promised. It is a hands-on position that directly affects customer satisfaction and the smooth flow of goods between the showroom and the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the warehouse order system for incoming customer orders and coordinate immediate picking, verification, and dispatch.
- Direct warehouse assistants and loaders to make sure tile, sanitary ware, and other products are picked and packed correctly for every order.
- Oversee the safe loading of vehicles, checking that quantities and product specifications match the dispatch documents before departure.
- Liaise with the showroom sales team to resolve order issues quickly and ensure customers receive their purchases without unnecessary delays.
- Assist customers collecting items directly, providing clear and professional support throughout the process.
- Organize and reorganize warehouse stock to make retrieval fast, while keeping storage space efficient and safe.
- Inspect incoming deliveries, verify counts and condition, and ensure items are stored in the correct locations.
- Perform cycle counts and take part in full stock takes, investigating and reporting any discrepancies.
- Update all stock movements and warehouse transactions in SAP or the warehouse management system as they happen.
- Enforce housekeeping, safety rules, and proper use of PPE across the warehouse, and step in to manage the team when the Warehouse Supervisor is unavailable.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or warehouse operations within a busy retail, FMCG, hardware, building materials, or hospitality setting.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume order fulfilment and coordinate dispatch operations without losing accuracy.
- Experience supervising or directing warehouse staff, including loading teams.
- Forklift operating experience is a plus, as is any relevant certification.
- Hands-on working knowledge of SAP or a comparable warehouse management system.
- Solid computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Physically fit and comfortable being on the warehouse floor for most of the day.
- Capable of multitasking and adapting quickly when priorities change.
