Role Overview
Based at Menengai, this warehouse operations role gives hands-on support to the Site Lead and Inventory Controller across the full daily flow of goods — from receipt and system posting through put-away, picking, and storage. The person in this seat keeps physical stock and warehouse management records in step, so inbound deliveries move quickly, inventory stays dependable, and the operation can meet its daily receipt, storage, and safety commitments. Their discipline and accuracy directly reduce stock loss, strengthen reporting, and help the warehouse run without avoidable disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close each shift with operational briefings so the team understands priorities, handover points, and safety messages before work starts.
- Receive incoming goods, confirm they are in good condition and the correct quantity, and secure the required sign-off from the delivery driver and security personnel.
- Post confirmed receipts into the JDA warehouse management system in real time and complete put-away to the correct storage locations.
- Handle, pick, store, and safeguard products so stock integrity is protected and damage or misplacement is kept to a minimum.
- Track stock movements, investigate discrepancies, and report variances or non-conforming items to the Site Lead with enough detail for follow-up and escalation.
- Keep warehouse areas restricted to authorized staff and ensure storage zones hold quality products whose physical counts match the WMS records.
- Maintain clear daily reports, productivity records, warehouse resource lists, and filing so documentation is accurate and easy to retrieve.
- Apply safe working practices at every workstation to support zero lost-time accidents, and take on other duties as business needs require.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management.
- At least four years of proven experience in warehouse operations.
- Diploma in a supply chain-related field.
- Proficient use of MS Excel.
- Competency with JDA WMS is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with warehouse environments, inventory systems, and other logistics software.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
