Role Overview

In this remote contract role, you will listen closely to short speech samples and produce clear, structured evaluations of how each recording sounds and how the speaker delivers their words. Your professional ear for voice, speech, and audio quality will help inform the development and assessment of AI voice technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Write consistent, evidence-based assessments of recorded speech using appropriate voice and speech terminology.
• Describe vocal qualities such as resonance, phonation, pitch, vocal placement, and breath support.
• Assess pronunciation, articulation, accent or dialect, intonation, pacing, rhythm, and prosody.
• Evaluate clarity, energy, emotional tone, expressiveness, and the overall effectiveness of a delivery.
• Distinguish among conversational, spontaneous, scripted, narrative, and performance-oriented speech.
• Note relevant recording conditions, including background noise, microphone characteristics, and acoustic issues.
• Maintain accurate, objective documentation and follow project quality and confidentiality expectations while working remotely.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Professional experience in voice acting, voiceover, vocal or dialect coaching, vocal instruction, speech analysis, or a closely related field.
• Strong working knowledge of vocal technique and speech features, including resonance, articulation, breath control, rhythm, intonation, and delivery.
• Excellent critical listening skills, including the ability to notice subtle differences in voices and recordings.
• Ability to produce detailed, objective written evaluations and communicate effectively in English at B2 level or higher.
• Careful, consistent approach to reviewing and documenting audio.
• Reliable internet access, quality headphones, and the ability to manage work independently in a remote setting.
• Relevant training or education in areas such as theatre, voice, linguistics, speech, music, or audio production is useful; experience with phonetics, broadcast, performance, recording, or dialogue editing is also relevant.
