Veterinary Officer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Veterinary Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of animal health and disease control activities, ensuring the well-being of livestock and compliance with regulations. This role involves research, field work, data collection, and stakeholder training.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake disease control and surveillance activities, including research and reporting
- Administer vaccinations to prevent and control infectious diseases
- Enforce livestock movement regulations to prevent disease spread
- Participate in training stakeholders in vector control programs
- Treat sick animals and provide advice on good veterinary practices
- Collect data and prepare comprehensive reports on animal health, products, and markets
- Advise on animal breeding practices to improve productivity and health
- Promote animal welfare and enforce animal control measures
- Conduct postmortem examinations and perform other diagnostic tests
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- Registered by the Kenya Veterinary Board
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
