Job Description
Role Overview
This university teaching role combines classroom and practical instruction with student guidance and academic research. The postholder will develop and deliver computing-related programmes, contribute to curriculum improvement, and produce research that supports the university’s academic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses assigned by the Head of Department, including lectures and practical sessions.
- Plan, develop, and deliver programmes of study at appropriate levels, including new courses where needed.
- Review course materials and update content to keep teaching relevant and effective.
- Work with academic colleagues on curriculum development, course changes, and research activities.
- Conduct research, prepare grant proposals, and share findings through publications and other channels.
- Present research at national and international conferences and participate in relevant consultancy work.
- Mentor students and staff, including offering academic and career guidance.
- Undertake other duties assigned by supervisors in line with the role.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognised or accredited university.
- At least three years of relevant post-qualification work experience.
- Evidence of potential to contribute to university-level teaching and research.
- Commitment to high-quality teaching and to creating a supportive learning environment for students.
