Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits at the centre of how the bank turns strategy into delivered outcomes. You will own the governance machinery that connects Board-level ambitions with individual workstreams, making sure every major initiative is tracked, measured and held accountable for producing real value. Your day-to-day work involves monitoring the entire transformation portfolio, building performance frameworks, supporting initiative owners with execution discipline, and giving executives the analytical evidence they need to make confident investment and prioritisation decisions.

You act as the custodian of the bank’s Strategy-to-Execution model, meaning you are the person who ensures no initiative drifts into ambiguity. By maintaining roadmaps, scorecards, benefits registries and early-warning risk indicators, you help the organisation avoid wasted spend, missed targets and duplicated effort. Your work directly shapes what gets accelerated, what gets reworked and what gets stopped across the bank’s strategic change agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the day-to-day strategic execution partner to initiative sponsors and workstream leads, keeping delivery aligned with measurable business value and stepping in when execution veers off course.
  • Own and continuously refine the bank’s integrated Transformation Roadmap, consolidating every initiative’s milestones, dependencies, risks, benefits and expected strategic outcomes into one transparent enterprise view.
  • Run the enterprise portfolio review and prioritisation process, advising executives on which initiatives to accelerate, redesign, defer or terminate based on strategic value, readiness and projected return.
  • Design and maintain transformation scorecards and Key Performance Indicator governance, linking Board-level, executive, Transformation Office and individual initiative performance into one coherent system with clear owners for every metric.
  • Establish structured Benefits Realisation Frameworks for all major change initiatives, defining who owns each benefit, what the baseline is, how progress will be measured and how realised value will be verified.
  • Track planned versus delivered benefits across financial, customer, operational, productivity and risk dimensions, quantifying benefit leakage and producing forecasts of future value realisation across the portfolio.
  • Prepare executive decision packs for the CTO, ExCo, Board and steering committees, translating complex delivery and financial data into clear options with trade-offs, risks and recommended actions.
  • Apply financial modelling to investment proposals, calculating ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period, benefit-cost ratio, cost of delay and cost of inaction to support sound resource allocation.
  • Maintain the enterprise transformation risk register and design early-warning indicator models that flag emerging threats to delivery, benefit erosion and value leakage before they become major problems.
  • Build transformation capability across the bank by embedding common methodologies, standards and playbooks, and by coaching teams on portfolio governance, benefits management and strategic performance measurement.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, ICT, Finance, Economics, Strategy, Data Analytics, Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems or a closely related field. A Master’s degree in one of those disciplines is a distinct advantage.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, Change Management, Business Analysis, Data Analytics or an equivalent credential is highly preferred.
  • At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in transformation management, strategy execution, enterprise performance management, business consulting, business analytics or portfolio management.
  • Proven track record of leading or governing large transformation programmes, ideally within banking or wider financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience in executive reporting, benefits realisation, governance, strategic planning and financial modelling, including working directly with senior executives, Board members and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Strong command of transformation economics concepts such as cost of inaction, benefit leakage, portfolio value-at-risk, value heat maps, benefits forecasting and dependency mapping.
  • Solid financial and analytical skills across ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period and cost-benefit analysis, with the ability to challenge investment assumptions.
  • Practical experience designing KPI and scorecard systems, including methodologies similar to a Strategic Performance Index.
  • Working knowledge of BI and data visualisation tools including Power BI, Tableau or SQL, plus exposure to predictive analytics, process mining or AI/ML used for performance and risk monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to condense complex portfolio insight into clear, decision-ready Board papers and executive summaries.
