Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits within the agency training function and is dedicated to building the capability of teams that sell life insurance through banks and savings cooperatives. Day to day, you will design structured learning journeys, deliver technical and sales-focused training, and spend time in the field coaching relationship managers and cooperative representatives so they can sell with confidence and comply with regulations. Your work directly supports the organisation's growth strategy by making these alternative distribution channels more productive, knowledgeable, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a multi-year training roadmap for Bancassurance and Sacco Assurance channels, translating commercial targets into clear learning priorities and measurable milestones.
  • Create distinct learning pathways for bank relationship managers, branch staff, and cooperative representatives, addressing their differing product knowledge needs and sales environments.
  • Deliver engaging classroom and field-based training sessions covering life insurance products, sales methodologies, and regulatory obligations.
  • Accompany channel sales teams on joint client engagements to diagnose performance gaps, provide real-time coaching, and reinforce key selling behaviours.
  • Own the training calendar for all alternative channels, ensuring sessions run on time, resources are available, and branch or cooperative operations are not disrupted.
  • Develop practical training content that reflects real customer scenarios, common objections, and the specific compliance requirements applicable to bank and cooperative distribution.
  • Maintain accurate training records and provide regular reports that show completion rates, knowledge uplift, and the connection between training activity and channel sales performance.
  • Act as the go-to training contact for Bancassurance partners, cooperative leadership, product teams, and the broader sales function, working together to respond to emerging need quickly.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • A recognised insurance qualification such as COP, LOMA, or a Diploma in Insurance.
  • At least 7 years of work experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Significant experience within the insurance industry, with clear exposure to life insurance operations or sales enablement.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance product architecture, policy administration, premium structures, and customer suitability requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to command attention from diverse learner groups across branches and cooperatives.
  • Analytical mindset with a history of conducting training needs assessments and evaluating programme impact through both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, plus a coaching style that encourages people to take ownership of their development.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is a role where you can shape the commercial capability of two important growth channels rather than simply managing a course calendar. You will have direct access to senior sales and product leadership, enabling you to design training that responds to genuine market realities. The role also gives you the freedom to travel and coach in the field, making your contribution visible in day-to-day sales interactions. If you value strategic influence and tangible performance outcomes, this position offers both within a results-driven insurance environment.
