Role Overview

This life insurance operations role at ICEA Lion keeps premium collection running accurately and on time, from matching bank credits to policy records to following up on failed direct debits. Key Responsibilities

• Match incoming bank credits to the correct policy accounts and confirm that premiums are receipted accurately.
• Respond to client enquiries about premium payments and receipts, giving timely updates and resolving concerns.
• Send direct debit instructions on scheduled debit dates, monitor unpaid items with the bank, and notify policyholders when a direct debit fails.
• Represent the company in meetings with banks, sponsors, sales teams, and industry peers while building bank relationships, including negotiating collection charges that are fair to both clients and the company.
• Organise and lead departmental meetings, prepare minutes, and report discussed issues to the line manager with urgent matters clearly separated from important ones.
• Review operational workflows and collaborate with the ICT team to implement improvements that make processes more efficient and effective.
• Identify and report risks, bottlenecks, or other challenges that could reduce operational efficiency.
• Train new employees, sales colleagues, and participants in HR-led sessions on core operational procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field from a recognised university.
• At least one year of post-qualification experience working in a life insurance company.
• Progress toward a professional insurance qualification such as ACII, FCII, or an equivalent credential is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of premium receipting, policy credits, and direct debit collection routines.
• Confidence to chase unpaid direct debit instructions with banks and communicate outcomes clearly to clients.
• Relationship management and negotiation skills for dealing with partner banks on collection charges.
• Ability to organise meetings, capture accurate minutes, and prioritise urgent issues over routine matters.
• Collaborative mindset for reviewing processes with ICT colleagues and reporting operational risks.
• Comfortable delivering training to new staff and internal stakeholders, including sales team members.
