Your core focus is to ensure that learners gain the hands-on competencies required to succeed in their qualifications, while also supporting institutional quality through structured assessments and course monitoring. Every day involves blending technical expertise with sound educational practice, from preparing materials and facilitating sessions to evaluating outcomes and refining delivery methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify training needs across academic departments or student cohorts and recommend targeted learning interventions.
- Develop structured lesson plans, practical exercises, and learning resources that align with tertiary programme expectations.
- Facilitate classroom-based and workshop-style technical training sessions for individuals and groups.
- Design formal and informal assessments that measure technical skill acquisition and academic progress.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to learners and escalate follow-up support where required.
- Collaborate with academic programme coordinators to ensure content remains current and consistent with institutional curriculum frameworks.
- Maintain and prepare training environments, tools, and test equipment used during practical instruction.
- Track training records, compile performance reports, and recommend programme improvements based on learner results.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in a field relevant to the technical training area being delivered.
- A mandatory technical training qualification or formal education in instructional practice for trainers.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in a similar training role or within an accredited learning environment.
- A thorough understanding of tertiary education structures, including qualification design, module delivery, and academic quality requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to break down technical concepts into structured, learner-friendly content.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills.
