Job Description

Role Overview

This position blends strategic business development with hands-on sales execution, focusing on vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions. You will spend your days scanning the market for tender openings, building a qualified pipeline, and guiding opportunities from first contact through to a signed deal — while ensuring every proposal is accurate, compliant, and delivered before the deadline. Your work directly drives revenue growth and strengthens the company’s presence across corporate, government, and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor tender portals, government gazettes, corporate procurement channels, and NGO announcements to capture relevant business opportunities.
  • Analyse tender documents, evaluate eligibility and commercial viability, and coordinate the full bid preparation process including technical and financial responses.
  • Manage a structured tender calendar, track submission deadlines and evaluation outcomes, and maintain follow-up communication with procurement contacts.
  • Develop new sales leads through field visits, cold outreach, networking groups, referrals, and participation in industry events and exhibitions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and present tailored quotations and proposals that match client requirements for tracking, fleet management, and related services.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales targets while keeping a well-organised pipeline of active opportunities at various stages.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships via regular check-ins, scheduled account reviews, and prompt response to enquiries or service concerns.
  • Spot expansion potential within existing accounts by recommending complementary products, upgrades, and referral incentives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and resolution of any post-sales issues.
  • Document all tender submissions, client interactions, quotations, and sales outcomes, and produce weekly or monthly activity reports for management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Procurement, Business Development, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience in sales, business development, or tender management.
  • Hands-on experience preparing compliant tender documents and successfully submitting bids to institutional or corporate buyers.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting sales targets and managing client relationships.
  • Strong written communication with the ability to craft persuasive proposals, executive summaries, and formal bid responses.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven, with a professional, ethical, and customer-first approach.
  • Previous exposure to technical products such as vehicle tracking, fleet management, security systems, or telematics is an advantage.
  • Experience working with government ministries, parastatals, NGOs, or large corporate procurement teams is a plus.
