Job Description

Role Overview

This position sits at the centre of the bank’s technology operations, owning the end-to-end governance of every change and release that moves into production. You will work across business units, engineering teams, vendors, and service management to make sure each implementation is risk-assessed, properly scheduled, clearly communicated, tested, approved, and reviewed before and after deployment. By keeping tight control over the change lifecycle, you help protect the bank from service outages, operational failures, and negative customer impact while enabling projects and system improvements to move forward safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of technology change requests, from initial submission through risk assessment, approval, implementation, and final closure in compliance with the bank’s internal change management standard.
  • Own the forward schedule of changes and releases across applications, infrastructure, projects, and third-party suppliers, identifying conflicts, dependencies, resourcing gaps, and rollback plans before anything goes live.
  • Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) and emergency CAB sessions, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and change documentation, capturing decisions, and tracking follow-up actions to closure.
  • Act as the central coordinator between business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and technology groups, ensuring everyone receives accurate updates on implementation windows, planned outages, and business impact.
  • Support pre-deployment readiness by coordinating user acceptance testing schedules where needed, verifying test signoffs and approvals, and tracking open defects or unresolved risks that could block a release.
  • Monitor change and release performance metrics, such as success rates and failed implementations, and escalate high-risk, overdue, or non-compliant changes to management with clear recommendations.
  • Ensure emergency changes follow the appropriate governance path, including post-incident review and documentation, so urgent fixes do not bypass the required controls.
  • Produce regular management information and reports on change and release activity, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • At least four years of experience in IT operations, with a minimum of two years specifically in change management, release management, or IT service management.
  • ITIL v4 certification or demonstrable working knowledge of ITIL change enablement and release management practices.
  • Hands-on experience using ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM platform for change and release tracking.
  • Proven experience administering CAB or similar enterprise change governance processes, including managing meeting cadence, documentation, and action log discipline.
  • Strong familiarity with risk assessment, compliance controls, and regulatory expectations within banking or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience coordinating production deployments across multiple teams and vendors, including release readiness checks, go-live communication, and post-implementation verification.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to challenge change owners on incomplete information while maintaining collaborative working relationships.
