Role Overview
As an Associate Technical Specialist supporting East Africa, you will help customers get the right performance from adhesive products by assisting with product trials, application methods, equipment questions, and troubleshooting. Working alongside Sales, Marketing, and R&D, you will also share customer and market insights that inform product improvements and new launches while building your own technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with customer application trials and product demonstrations, and help investigate performance or process issues.
- Guide customers on adhesive selection, application techniques, and relevant equipment considerations.
- Develop working knowledge of adhesive products, substrates, production processes, and application machinery.
- Review trial results and product performance data, then prepare clear technical reports and presentations.
- Deliver customer training on product use, application practices, and equipment operation.
- Coordinate with Sales colleagues to provide technical support for key accounts and prospective business.
- Contribute to market research, attend relevant industry events, and report emerging customer needs and trends.
- Support product introductions by assisting customers and relaying field feedback to Marketing and R&D.
Requirements & Qualifications
- One of the following: a high school diploma and at least four years of relevant technical experience; an associate or technical degree; or a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic familiarity with manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, or industrial applications.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to explain technical information clearly.
- Willingness to learn new technical concepts and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Authorization to work in Kenya and willingness to travel as required.
- Preferred: a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: at least one year of experience or training involving adhesives, substrates, machinery, or application equipment.
- Preferred: a relevant technical certification or experience supporting customer-facing technical projects or product demonstrations.
