Job Description

Role Overview

This is a hands-on inventory analyst position with an operating business in Nairobi, placed at the centre of daily supply chain activity. You will spend your time inside an ERP environment reconciling stock levels, tracing variances, and turning inventory data into clear recommendations for purchasing and warehouse teams. Your work protects the company’s margins by preventing shrinkage, spotting slow-moving stock early, and ensuring every system quantity reflects what is physically on the shelf.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor day-to-day inventory movement, watch reorder patterns, and flag slow-moving or excess stock before it becomes a cost issue.
  • Run standard and ad hoc ERP stock reports, then review them for anomalies in quantities, locations, and transaction histories.
  • Keep master data clean inside the ERP, ensuring product codes, bin locations, and stock balances stay aligned with warehouse reality.
  • Carry out periodic physical stock checks, comparing cycle counts and full counts against system records and source documents.
  • Investigate any mismatch between physical and system inventory, trace the root cause, and document corrective actions with supporting evidence.
  • Maintain clear audit trails of stock adjustments, write-offs, transfer errors, and all variance-related resolutions for internal review.
  • Prepare regular inventory performance summaries covering accuracy percentages, stock turnover, shrinkage trends, and open reconciliation issues.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and finance staff to remove process bottlenecks and tighten stock handling controls.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, Business, or a closely related field.
  • At least one year of professional experience in stock analysis, inventory control, warehouse reporting, or a similar operational role.
  • Proven practical experience using an enterprise ERP system for inventory tracking, data entry, stock transfers, and report generation.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and spreadsheet skills, including the ability to manipulate large datasets using Excel or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with physical stock-taking methods, cycle counting, variance auditing, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Sharp attention to detail, with a methodical approach to identifying data inconsistencies and enforcing inventory safeguards.
  • Clear communication skills to present findings and recommendations to managers across supply chain and finance.

What We Offer / Why Join

This full-time on-site role in Nairobi offers a stable monthly remuneration of KSh 30,000 for a candidate with genuine ERP and stock analysis experience. You will gain direct exposure to real inventory operations, working closely with supply chain and finance leadership to influence purchasing decisions and loss-prevention strategy.
