Role Overview
This role places you at the centre of our retail supply chain, where your daily analysis helps keep every branch operating with the right inventory balance. You will track stock as it flows from suppliers through distribution into store-level inventories, spotting imbalances early so we avoid both empty shelves and costly surplus. By transforming complex data into clear forecasts, purchase plans, and performance reports, you directly safeguard stock availability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and review supplier-wise stock allocations, including open orders and in-transit consignments, to confirm that delivery schedules are met and allocations match branch needs.
- Assess inventory levels and demand trends across all branches, then calculate six-month stock support requirements to maintain healthy buffer levels without tying up excess capital.
- Coordinate stock rotation, inter-branch consolidation, and refill cycles, using classification of slow-moving versus fast-moving items to prioritise transfers and prevent dead stock.
- Contribute to demand forecasting by maintaining ordering charts, preparing purchase orders, and following up with suppliers on dispatch and arrival confirmations.
- Produce inventory reports and performance summaries covering key metrics such as stock accuracy, turnover, ageing inventory, and shrinkage.
- Reconcile system records against physical stock counts, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to keep data reliable and auditable.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and branch operations teams to align stock plans with promotions, seasonal peaks, and store-specific requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, inventory management, business administration, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in stock analysis, inventory management, supply chain coordination, or a comparable analytical position.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms, inventory management systems, or warehouse software is essential.
- Retail or FMCG background is a distinct advantage, particularly exposure to multi-branch operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory control procedures, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data visualisation for digestible reporting.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detecting anomalies in large, complex datasets.
- Clear communication skills for presenting inventory insights to purchasing, finance, and branch leadership teams.
