Role Overview
This position sits at the center of the spare parts commercial operation, acting as the bridge between client requests, technical validation, and profitable deal closure. You will own the full quotation lifecycle for industrial spare parts opportunities, from reading technical specifications and coordinating supplier input through to securing internal approvals and tracking delivery. Your work directly keeps client-facing teams and operations aligned, ensuring that every parts request is answered with an accurate, competitively priced, and technically sound proposal.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main deal desk contact for spare parts inquiries, owning every quotation from initial intake through final sign-off and handover.
- Translate client drawings, equipment manuals, and bills of materials into precise spare parts requirements, then build quotations that match both technical specifications and commercial targets.
- Act as the technical first responder for spare parts questions arriving through the contact center, providing quick clarification, recommending appropriate solutions, and routing complex issues to engineering specialists.
- Reach out directly to manufacturers, distributors, and OEMs to verify part availability, lead times, compatibility, and pricing, including identifying sensible alternative components when the original part is not obtainable.
- Work with logistics and operations teams to arrange dispatch, follow up with freight partners, and keep an eye on delivery timelines so that order delays are flagged and resolved early.
- Shepherd every quote through the required internal governance steps, including pricing validation, margin checks, and commercial approvals, making sure the documentation is complete and compliant.
- Keep the opportunity pipeline visible and current, tracking parts deals from first inquiry to confirmed order and pinpointing any stage where the process regularly gets stuck.
- Collaborate with business development engineers, procurement, finance, and other units to support client opportunities and keep spare parts work integrated into larger projects.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering, or a directly related engineering field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a commercial engineering support role, spare parts management, or technical sales coordination.
- Hands-on background in industrial spare parts, manufacturing environments, or engineered solutions, ideally with exposure to bottling, packaging, or automation systems.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, BOMs, and engineering specifications to pin down the correct spare parts for a given machine or process.
- Sound working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation components as they are applied in industrial systems.
- Experience building technically accurate quotations that stand up to both engineering review and commercial scrutiny.
- Familiarity with the full commercial deal lifecycle, including inquiry intake, quotation preparation, pricing validation, approval workflows, and closure.
- Proven ability to coordinate with OEMs, distributors, and suppliers on availability, technical fit, lead times, and pricing.
- Working knowledge of spare parts inventory dynamics, including lead times, stocking decisions, alternative sourcing, and supply constraints.
- Comfort using CRM or deal management tools to log inquiries, track quotes, manage pipeline stages, and keep commercial records trustworthy.
- Strong grasp of how supplier costs and margin structures influence competitive yet profitable pricing.
- High attention to detail in keeping quotations, client records, pricing logic, and order documentation accurate, traceable, and aligned with internal commercial policies.
