Job Description

Role Overview

You will be part of a field crew delivering fluids environmental services at customer well sites, focusing on the safe setup, running, and teardown of solids control equipment such as centrifuges, dryers, screw conveyors, and vacuum units. Your daily work keeps drilling fluids in spec, reduces waste volumes, and helps the operation run without unplanned downtime. Expect a physically demanding schedule with long rotations, on-call duties, and a mix of solo troubleshooting and close teamwork under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize equipment to location, rig it up according to job plans, and confirm all connections, power sources, and safety barriers are properly set before operation.
  • Operate and monitor solids control machinery throughout the job, adjusting flow rates, chemical additions, and equipment settings to match changing well conditions.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, shakers, centrifuges, and conveyors, including lubrication, parts replacement, and cleaning between jobs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues on location and take corrective action, ordering replacement parts and supplies when needed to keep equipment functional.
  • Complete pre-job and post-job checklists, daily activity reports, and maintenance logs for yourself and any crew members you supervise.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including permit requirements, hazard assessments, and proper handling of drilling waste and chemicals.
  • Attend safety meetings and toolbox talks, and stop work immediately if conditions become unsafe or procedures are unclear.
  • Coordinate with the operator's representatives and rig crew to align equipment output with drilling schedules and fluid management targets.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certification in fluid services, wellsite equipment, or mechanical maintenance is a strong plus.
  • At least four years of related experience in solids control, mud logging, or oilfield equipment operations is preferred, along with completion of the employer's product line training program.
  • Solid computer navigation skills for daily electronic reporting, email communication, and basic data entry; must be comfortable using tablets or laptops at a remote job site.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with hand tools, hydraulic systems, and diesel-driven equipment, plus the ability to read schematics and follow technical manuals.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors in a clear, professional manner, especially during high-stress situations.
  • Willingness to be on call 24/7 and to work extended hitches at remote locations, sometimes with short notice, in all weather conditions.
  • Working knowledge of HSE compliance and common wellsite hazards, including the ability to identify risks and respond to emergencies appropriately.

What We Offer / Why Join

You will join a global energy technology company that invests in formal product line training and encourages a culture where safety is a personal value, not just a policy. The employer recognizes that everyone works differently and offers flexibility in shift schedules and working patterns where possible — if you need a specific arrangement, you can discuss it when you apply.
