Role Overview
You will be part of an on-site engineering team in Dubai, building and maintaining the enterprise Java applications that keep airline operations running smoothly. Day to day, that means designing microservices with Spring Boot, integrating with systems for crew scheduling, flight operations, disruption handling, and safety/security, and continuously improving code quality using modern tools—including AI-assisted development platforms. Your work directly supports mission-critical processes in a fast-moving aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Integrate software with airline operational systems such as crew management, flight operations, disruption management, and safety & security platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and comprehensive testing to uphold software quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and other developers throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost coding efficiency and produce cleaner, more maintainable code.
- Contribute to production support, troubleshooting live issues, and implementing timely enhancements.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum team, attending stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Java software development, including hands-on work with the Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and relational database management (SQL).
- Proven ability to perform application maintenance, debugging, and production support.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience collaborating in a cross-functional team.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with attention to code quality and security.
- Previous experience in the airline operations domain is highly preferred.
