Reports To: Cellar Manager & Operations Director
Industry: Wine & Beverage Distribution
Remuneration: Kshs. 35,000 + Commission
Location: Galu, Diani
Probation: 3 Months
Role Overview
Our client is a prominent distributor of fine wines and beverages in Kenya, looking for an organized and proactive Shop Supervisor for their Galu location. This role is perfect for an individual who combines a passion for the hospitality industry with rigorous retail discipline. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the shop, ensuring that luxury wine products are stored, handled, and displayed to the highest standards. Beyond inventory, you will be the custodian of the shop’s financials and the primary point of contact for a sophisticated clientele, requiring a balance of independent decision-making and excellent service delivery.
Functional Deliverables
Inventory & Quality Management

Oversee the storage and organization of wine stock, strictly adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation and correct storage temperatures.

Execute comprehensive inventory tasks, including routine stock counts, placing replenishment orders, and verifying new deliveries.

Monitor the physical condition of the wine portfolio, identifying and removing any compromised items to maintain quality assurance.

Coordinate with the Cellar Manager to ensure the storage area is optimized for both safety and efficiency.
Financial & Operational Control

Manage daily financial processes, including cashing up, till reconciliation, and the maintenance of accurate sales records.

Utilize POS systems and inventory software to track sales trends and generate basic bookkeeping reports.

Ensure full compliance with regional health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.

Identify operational gaps and implement improvements independently to enhance the shop's overall profitability.
Customer Experience & Merchandising

Deliver world-class customer service, assisting with product inquiries, sales, and conflict resolution.

Design and maintain attractive wine displays and shelf merchandising to drive impulse purchases and enhance the browsing experience.

Ensure the shop environment remains pristine, organized, and welcoming at all times.

Coordinate maintenance and repairs for the facility as needed to prevent operational downtime.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Education
-
Education: Diploma or Degree in any related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a retail or hospitality environment.

Knowledge: Familiarity with wine types, storage best practices, and handling is highly advantageous.

Technical Skills: Basic IT proficiency (MS Excel, POS systems, and inventory software).
