Job Description
Role Overview
This role supports the practical delivery of teaching and research by preparing learning materials, coordinating laboratory activities, and assisting both students and lecturers. It also helps maintain a safe working environment, including overseeing the correct handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the collection, preparation, and readiness of materials used for teaching and research.
- Contribute to planning and developing teaching and research activities, including the practical resources they require.
- Provide professional assistance to students and lecturers engaged in laboratory and research work.
- Coordinate and administer teaching and research activities to support their effective delivery.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate practical sessions.
- Ensure laboratory waste is handled and disposed of appropriately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and a Higher National Diploma, with seven years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of information and communication technology.
- First Aid training and Occupational Health and Safety training.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, where applicable.
